Vibrant plum and cherry aromas combine with oaky, herbal notes. The palate is smooth and complex with juicy bramble fruit, black pepper, and savoury characters. For Rioja lovers this ticks all the boxes - smoothness, great fruit concentration, just the right amount of toasty oak. As it's organic only the best new oak barrels are used. One of our most popular and best value wines.

This large, family-owned estate has elevated hillside vineyards in some of the best zones of Rioja Baja. Vineyards are at an average altitude of 600m, with soils a mixture of iron-rich clay and chalk. The hot and dry Mediterranean climate, combined with the largest day-to-night shift in temperatures experienced in all Rioja, produces consistently ripe, healthy grapes.
Investment in their own vineyards (and a focus on their own high quality fruit, rather than over-reliance on bought-in grapes) combined with modern vinification cellars and good quality oak barrels, allows them to produce a range of wines which offer great value. The Artesa portfolio offers purity of fruit, balanced acidity and a structure and style unique to this distinct location.
200 hectares of estate vineyards near Alfaro provide the basis of the Artesa range and the best of these, at high altitude (500 to 600 metre), with mature vines and poor, stony soils, have been converted to organic production.
Fermented in stainless steel. Matured for 6 months in new American oak barrels.
